Theology: “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, to the end that all that believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). “All things come of thee, O Lord and of thine own have we given thee." The Mission and purpose of the Finance Committee is to:
* Manage the Financial resources and other resources of the parish with the help and guidance of the Treasurer and in accordance with the Canons and Resolutions of the Diocese and Vestry.
* Recommend parish budget for approval by the Vestry and the Parish Annual Meeting. To see that all other Parish Funds are securely deposited and give a proper accounting of such funds. Give full report at the Vestry monthly Meeting on all the finances of the Parish at the Annual Meeting.
* To act as a “trouble-shooter” in detecting trouble spots where there are heavy unexpected expenses or flagging income so that action may be taken to prevent a critical situation later in the year.
* Insure account books are properly maintained and audited annually and the certificate of audit sent to the Bishop.
* Monitor Pledge Income, Special Gifts, Planned Giving and loose offerings of Parish remembering that a growing amount in loose offerings might suggest that there is some failure in the Stewardship.
* Review Salaries of the Parish Clergy and Staff from time to time or as necessary. Submit monthly and quarterly statements.
* Provide for Annual Meeting an Annual Audit of financial records.
* Recommend to the Vestry a Fund Raiser Coordinator for the Parish. |
