| Mission and Evangelism
Theology: Then Jesus came to the disciples and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). The Mission of the Mission and Evangelism Committee * To present Jesus Christ as worshipped and honored in the Church of St. Simon to the community at large in an effort to bring Christian principles to bear on all aspect of life.
* Welcome and send cards to visitors to our Church.
* Organize visits to prospective members and new “arrivals” in the community.
* To create St. Simon’s Church Parish Directory.
* Establish Christmas, greeting and cards to the sick and shut-ins as a Mission tool. Sympathy Cards to those who have lost their loved ones will also be sent Mission and Evangelism Committee. This Committee will also send messages of congratulations to members and friends who must be extended messages of congratulations due to their good work or successes.
* Have available to members, books, magazines and videos for the education, evangelization and enlightenment of the Parish of St. Simon and the Community.
* Organize cottage services, Church services, lectures and visits to bring cheer to the sick, lonely or depressed as well to highlight certain aspects of life for the edification of the Parish and the Community.
* Develop visitations – may be for Stewardship campaign or just to encourage members both new and old.
* Develop an effective Outreach Ministry for Youth and adults.
* Give full report on the activities of the committee to the monthly Vestry meeting and to the Annual meeting of the Parish. |
