Theology: Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19: 14).

The Mission of the Vestry Scholarships Committee is to:

* Maintain a list of students in Junior/Senior High School in the Parish.

* Encourage support for the scholarship program in the parish by ensuring that reminders are placed in bulletin and by organizing fun raising ventures.

* Evaluate applications and recommend to the Vestry those eligible for Scholarship.

* Keep in touch with Scholarship holders and work closely with the Career-networking Committee to organize an annual Church related career seminar.

* Suggest a suitable contribution to a Scholarship fund outside of the Parish whenever funds allow.  (A Parish that “Turns In” constantly upon itself is not a healthy parish no matter how much it needs the money itself.)

* Organize an annual “Scholarship Day” to celebrate with those who are graduating.

* Give full report on the activities of the Committee to the monthly Vestry Meeting and the Annual Meeting of the Parish.

Priority Initiatives:

2. Keep in contact with students awarded Scholarships

3. Raise funds and advertise the Fund’s needs
